5-SCALE: Grassroots Dialogues on Children’s Justice Journeys | Accelerating Global Justice Transformation

Through the 5-SCALE initiative, we facilitate grassroots dialogues that place children and adolescents at the center of conversations about justice, accountability, and social transformation. Our work engages directly with young people to understand their lived experiences with justice systems, conflict, and community dynamics, and to translate those insights into practical pathways for reform.

A significant part of this work takes place in Ciudad Bolívar, one of the most socially complex and conflict-affected areas of Bogotá, Colombia. In this context, we work closely with young people who often grow up surrounded by structural inequalities, violence, and limited access to justice. Through participatory workshops, dialogue circles, and creative methodologies, we create safe spaces where youth can reflect on their experiences, express their perspectives, and collectively imagine more humane and restorative responses to harm and conflict.

By engaging young people from communities such as Ciudad Bolívar, the initiative ensures that global debates on justice transformation are grounded in the voices and realities of those most directly affected. These dialogues not only empower participants but also generate valuable insights for policymakers, practitioners, and international organizations working to build child-centered, restorative, and accessible justice systems worldwide.

In this way, 5-SCALE connects local experiences with global transformation, demonstrating that meaningful justice reform must begin with listening to communities and amplifying the perspectives of young people navigating justice in their everyday lives.

A close-up of a meticulously organized legal research corner, featuring a row of thick, color-coded volumes on human rights, constitutional law, and public policy in Spanish, all aligned on a matte black shelf. In front, an open book reveals highlighted passages and handwritten margin notes in neat blue ink, beside a sleek silver fountain pen resting on recycled paper. A subtle world map of Latin America and the Caribbean, printed in muted tones, hangs slightly out of focus in the background. Soft, directional window light from the left illuminates the text, creating gentle contrast and delicate shadows along the page edges. Photographed with a shallow depth of field and rule-of-thirds framing, the atmosphere feels studious, reflective, and rigorously professional, evoking serious academic thought in photographic realism.

An expansive, richly textured wooden desk in a quiet advocacy office, topped with a laptop displaying a digital map of Latin America and the Caribbean with highlighted regions, next to annotated human rights reports, colorful sticky notes, and a well-worn leather-bound notebook. A small flag of a Latin American country and a ceramic mug with “justicia” printed in minimalist typography sit nearby. Soft, warm desk-lamp light blends with cool ambient daylight from a nearby window, creating a balanced, thoughtful atmosphere with gentle shadows. Captured from a slightly elevated angle with shallow depth of field, the focus rests on the map and notebook, while background shelves with binders and law books blur softly. The photographic realism and organized composition communicate strategic thinking, regional focus, and methodical action for justice transformation.

Organizing Team

Eventure is curated by a small team of designers, researchers, and ecologists who believe that technology must serve the planet — not the other way around. Working between Milan, Nairobi, and São Paulo, the team brings together local knowledge and global collaboration to shape a gathering rooted in care, creativity, and systems thinking.
We don’t just program talks — we curate experiences, relationships, and ideas that grow long after the event ends.
